In the wisdom of caring for our land, we assure its, and our, longevity.

No Limitations
Patio, Deck, and Balcony Gardens

Do you have a patio that seems too bare?
Or a yearning to grow lettuce on your balcony?
How about a lemon tree close to your kitchen door?
Plants in decorative pots can be beautiful, vegetable gardens in used oak wine barrels can be economical, container gardens can be convenient.
Strawberries cascading over the edge of a pot, surrounding chartreuse and magenta lettuce is a scrumptious sight.
African basil with deep green kale will grow for a long time.
Perhaps you are renting now and want to be able to take your Japanese maple
and succulent garden with you when you move.

From bare patio to beauty

This client was selling thier house. Not an inviting entrance.

A large space with not much interest.

The challenge was to add pots on this slanted patio.

This was the view from the street.

Contained beauty adorns now adorns the entrance.

This tree draws the eye to the hills in the background which enlarges their property with a view.

Nature is possible everywhere.

A place to sit on the patio.

Simplicity is rich with a native Juncus patens, Wire Grass. A more beautiful view form the street into the gardens of their "new" patio.
Three patios much improved

All native plants are in this patio garden with containers adding height and interest to the dimension of the bed.

A close-up of the native patio garden. Ribes sanguineum glutinosum or Pink Flowering Currant adorn these pots. The bird bath provides wildlife such as butterflies, birds and even bees a place to drink. This is a valuable feature in a Bay Friendly Garden.

Container gardening can liven up an otherwise barren patio area.

When gardening organically, even for ornamental plants, strawberries or other beautiful food can be mixed in with the flowers and textures.
