They reflect our tastes, our values, what gives us pleasure.
Our gardens give us beauty when we come home from work.
They give us wildlife to delight us.
They give us food to feed us.
Our gardens give us places to relax, to play, exercise, be in the shade, the sun, the moonlight.
Our gardens give us a place to express ourselves.
In these times of awareness of what is happening globally to our earth and its inhabitants, I believe we are ready to care for our gardens in ways we haven’t necessarily been committed to as we are now. 
Californians are in drought time, being asked to reduce our consumption of earth’s precious water or pay more for what we use over our allocations. We are more and more aware of our “carbon footprint” on the earth.
Now is the time to rethink how we go about creating and maintaining the beauty in our yards, businesses, parks.
